About Us

Professor Pamela Palanque-North, President of Palanque & Associates has over twenty years of experience as an expert organization consultant in the areas of workplace diversity, the dynamics of difference, global virtual teamwork and cross-cultural mentoring. Throughout her career Palanque-North has designed and directed cutting-edge research and training projects in leader and executive efficacy, the policy and practice of diversity and inclusion, global and cross-cultural team development, and coaching and mentoring across race and gender. Her work has contributed to the practical application of Applied Behavioral Science theory to corporate and government organizations in the U.S. and abroad.


 

An innovator in the fields of organization development, training and education, Palanque-North has built successful partnerships with many major US organizations including: MasterCard International, Lucent Technologies, Bell Laboratories, Rockwell International, the United Nations, The Conference Board, U.S. Dept of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and The Women's' International Leadership Program at International House in New York City. Palanque-North has served as a Training Program Manager and Evaluator at Yale University’s Division for Training and Consultation, Principal Investigator at New York University Medical Center, Urban Health Affairs, Director of Training and Education at The Institute for Puerto Rican Urban Studies and Senior Internal Organization Effectiveness Consultant at AT&T, Bell Laboratories.

In July of 2006, Palanque-North was commissioned by the Deputy Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago as Associate Director of a four-week, executive and management development curriculum for the Ministers of Government. The curriculum was provided as initial education in Trinidad and Tobago’s “Vision 20/20” program on organization change for public officials.

Currently, Palanque-North is Diversity Architect of a large-scale diversity management intervention for the Interpublic Group Advertising Agencies and is Co-Director of the 2007 Global Virtual Teams Conference—the first virtual global conference ever organized to engage both industry leaders and academics on the issue of difference and its impact on collaboration in the workplace. She is also the lead consultant responsible for design and delivery of the US Department of Commerce Educational Partnership Mentoring Program; a key talent development program for minority scholars working at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in several regions across the United States.


 

At American University in Washington D.C., Palanque-North is a Professor in the School of Public Affairs where she teaches for the National Training Labs Institute (NTL) graduate program in Organization Development. She is a co-creator of the course, Diversity In Organizations: US and Global. Other faculty appointments have included the University of the North in Petersburg, South Africa; the University of the West Indies Executive MBA Program in Port-of–Spain, Trinidad; and the New School for Social Research, Milano Graduate School for Human Resource Management, New York City. For more than twenty years she was a professional member of the NTL Institute—the oldest professional institute for management and applied behavioral science in the US—during which time she also served as a Dean in the NTL Professional Management Certificate Program in Diversity.

In addition, she has appeared on ABC’s 20/20 as a panelist on social change, and has been cited as an authority on workforce diversity by Business Week magazine on several occasions.
